IPL Recall: The Lowest team scores of the IPL

 

The 11th edition of the Indian Premier League is on the way. This cricket season is a harbinger of happiness and enjoyment. It gives people the way for refreshment and also it is celebrated as a festival in the country. Through the old times, the IPL has gained more popularity than the other cricket leagues all around the world. Welcoming this new edition we will take a look back in IPL diary. Moreover, this article is for the lowest totals scored by the different IPL teams.

So far, 35 cases of low scores under 100 have been registered in the IPL. Out of which, season 4 in 2011 has a maximum of 6 cases of the lowest score while 2012 observed only single such case. In this department, team Delhi has been struck 9 times below the score of 100. While the minimum of one time scoring less than 100 has been registered for Deccan Chargers, Pune Warriors, Kochi Tuskers and Chennai Super Kings.

Below the lowest totals made by the team has all 10 wickets against their opponents. Glancing at the records for the lowest team’s total first comes the mighty run scorers Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Two highest totals have been in their name but 2 lowest team totals are also under their caption.

IPL 2017: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (49-10) vs Kolkata

RCB has been all-out 2 times under 100 first by RR in 2014 and then by KKR in 2017. But here we will talk about the disappointment felt in the 10th edition of 2017 IPL season. Here, the Bengaluru batsman arrived on the field one by one chasing a moderate target of 132-runs lend by KKR. But, Kolkata bowlers dispersed the Kohli’s company for a limited score of 49 in just 9.4 overs. That night of 23 April would be a worse nightmare for all RCB members and fans with the 82-run loss. Jadhav scores highest 9 runs from RCB while Coulter Nile, Grandhomme and Woakes yield 3 wickets each from KKR.

IPL 2009: Rajasthan Royals (58-10) vs Bengaluru

This time match was at Capetown and Rajasthan was the victim. It was their lowest total in IPL history. Here, RR set to chase a target of 134 runs given by RCB. Rajasthan was defeated by 75 runs and this awesome performance by Bangalore team highly came from Anil Kumble who had taken 5 wickets conceding 5 runs in 3.5 overs. Because of 14th Lok Sabha elections, IPL was concluded in South Africain 2009. However, incidentally, Rajasthan’s 3 batsmen Jadeja, Yusuf Pathan and Tyron Henderson came to score 11 runs each.

IPL 2017: Delhi Daredevils (67-10) vs Kings XI Punjab

Batting first, Delhi pulled up and scored 67 in 17.1 overs with Corey Anderson highest of 18 runs. Sandeep Sharma, Punjab’s hero disrobed the Delhi team acquiring 4 wickets. In return, Punjab covers the chase with 10 wickets remaining in 7.5 overs.

Granting Mumbai an unspoiled victory of 10 wickets in 5.3 overs, Jayasuria banged 48(17).

IPL 2017: Delhi (66-10) vs Mumbai

The new season of IPL 2019, Delhi changed as Delhi Capitals. But, back then in 2017 once again, they were hammered by their rivals Mumbai Indians in their Home Kotla. The difficult run chase of 213 runs leads them to wrap up as 67 all-out for 13.1 overs. 3-wickets each by Harbhajan and Karn Sharma led Mumbai won by 146 runs. Mumbai also convinces their place at playoffs with this victory. From Delhi, Karun Nair’s 21 was the highest, while Windians Simmons and Pollard have 66 and 63 respectively.
